In 1973 Daniel Meadows set off with the idea of offering free photos to the people of Britain from his converted Routemaster bus which served as both his dark room and home. But what started as a community art project in the 70s soon grew into an astonishing body of work recording ordinary life in Britain. Now, with his entire archive being donated to the Bodleian, he returns to meet one of his subjects – the one that has eluded him all these years – the Boy with the Pigeon.
