The Company has a very small core of permanent staff and works with a large pool of freelance talent on a project by project basis. We welcome the submission of CVs for freelance positions, especially from TV personnel, and these should be sent to info@pierproductionsltd.co.uk

Actors
We regret that there are few opportunities for actors new to radio. With limited budgets it is necessary that casts should be experienced radio drama practitioners. We are however keen to work with more actors who are based in the Sussex area as we are keen to further our commitment to building a talent base in the region.

Voiceover Work
We have very few opportunities in this area at present and would discourage artists from sending demo CDs as it is unlikely to be productive.

Unsolicited Scripts
Although Pier Productions has always prioritised and endeavoured to maintain a script-reading service, the sheer volume of unsolicited material together with unfair delays for writers awaiting a response have forced us to recognise that for the time being we do not have sufficient time or resources to devote to new writing for radio.

We will continue however to look at the work of writers with an established track record in the media but require details of writing experience to be included with any script.

We strongly recommend that new writers contact the BBC Writers Room at www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom. The website is a fund of information in respect of the slots available, requirements for submission, layout of scripts and much more. The team do not welcome scripts sent in by email, so the address to send your work by post is:

BBC Writers Room

Work Experience

We receive many requests for Work Experience but would prefer to give opportunities to people in the Sussex area. Please contact our Radio Production Manager, Jane Ellison on info@pierproductionsltd.co.uk

Unsolicited Programme Ideas
We regret that we are unable to accept ideas from the general public. We would suggest contacting the BBC Commissioning website. The site can also assist you with information about job opportunities at the BBC.
