to be a pioneering Edwardian motorist, as she climbs behind the wheel of a veteran car and partially recreates an epic journey made by
female racing driver Dorothy Levitt from London
to Liverpool in 1905.

En-route Penelope will learn about the origins of British motoring and examine the achievements
of Dorothy Levitt; glamorous socialite, best selling author, and one of Britain’s most unusual trailblazers. Penelope samples the fashions, technologies, and follies of early motorcars, discovering how the Edwardian era shaped the motoring attitudes and behaviour of today.
